Program Overview

We love our bees, and we love our community, and we love connecting the two through our hive hosting program. Hive hosting is a great opportunity for individuals families, and businesses to support pollinators like honeybees while helping our local ecosystem thrive.

Whether you are interested in increasing production from your garden or fruit bearing trees, or just looking to invite a more calming and peaceful presence into your space, a partnership with our bees is certainly something to consider.

Bees have a positive therapeutic impact that can be felt using all of our senses while adding beauty, intrigue, and excitement to any yard or landscape.

Our all-inclusive hive hosting service gives you the best of the bees, while we work hard to handle the rest. Life is already expensive enough, and we offer a premium service at an affordable price that can't be beat, and we do it all without compromising on the care our special travelers deserve and need.

  • What's Included?

    • Yard consultation to confirm suitability of space for placement of 1-4 hives.

    • Pollination benefits for you and your neighbors (trust us they will thank you.)

    • Meaningful contribution to honeybee and environmental conservation.

    •The joy and calming experience of watching these hard workers come and go.

    •None of the hassle that comes with actually tending to the hives (We take care of all of that).

    • Two (2)lbs of honey a year, a $26 value, jarred in quantities with your input in mind.

    • Frequent reports on how the bees are doing and what's happening in and around the hive, including pictures and video for you to share with friends and family.

  • The Bottom Line:

    • $46/month ($550/year) payable monthly or annually. (Bees > Cable)

    • Lock in your price. As long as the colonies stay on your property your initial price with us will never change.

    •We don't charge extra for additional hives.

    •As a smaller and more agile company in the Greater Seattle area we are able to offer an incredibly competitive price for our services. All without compromising care.

    •We know bees and we know how to help them thrive in urban environments in the most hands-off way possible while also knowing when and how to intervene for proper swarm and integrated pest management.

  • Our Expectations:

    • A commitment from you to host our hives for at minimum one season (12 months)

    • The bees are busiest from March-October. During this time we will need to be able to access the hives up to four (4) times per month.

    • During non-peak times of the year (November-February we may need to visit the hives 1-2 times/month.

    • Hive hosts are expected to report any issues (swarms, damaged equipment, allergic reactions, ect.) immediately to us.

    • If for any reason you decide the bees aren't a good fit, we are happy to rehome the bees and settle any balances right away. We ask that you allow 1-2 weeks for us to find a suitable new home.

Where we host:

We wil consider hive hosting for the greater Seattle area from West Seattle to South Everett. We also offer hive hosting opportunities on Whidbey Island south of Greenbank.

What we are looking for in potential hosting sites:

• Sun. The more the better. Bees love some early morning eastern/southeatern exposure to warm the hive and get them up and moving for the day.

• An 6-10 foot runway in front of the hives for the bees to get up in the air.

• Dry ground, moisture is a honeybee killer, especially here in the PNW. Dry ground for us to work the bees is essential.

• A pecticide free commitment from hosts.

• Ease of access to the hives.
